oink oink

On a whim I looked up the symptoms of H1N1 in adults.

I...think I have a mild case of it. Except for the cough/sore throat, and not-quite-barfing, I scored the whole damn checklist.

I'm actually hoping that's what it is. This would mean I don't have to spring for a shot. And it's mild enough to just be miserable without being dangerous. And I think I'm on the upswing. I think.

So...yeah.

Likely enough. For most people it's not going to be any worse than any other flu they've had. People with asthma problems or histories of getting bronchitis and/or pneumonia from their flus are at greater risk, but otherwise it should hopefully be a non-event. People forget that when the whole Spanish flu thing happened, we ALSO had no trustworthy OTC remedy industry; most of the people who died of that died from complications rather than the flu itself.

Heck, when I got West Nile, I just figured I had a flu... until I kinda went "duh, it's JULY..."

I tend to get the flu in July.
Unless you're over 60, under 18, have a history of lung problems, or are pregnant most flus aren't that big a deal. And then again, even today there are a large number of deaths every year from flu related issues, just because you get the shot doesn't mean you won't have problems.
